The new push button locks have enabled us to control access issues while making improvements to security. The new routine is much more convenient for everyone; staff no longer have to leave a room in order to answer the main door and parents don’t have to wait outside. The locks are easy to fit and easy to programme, and make a huge difference to the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery.

Access control: creating a safer learning environment
Schools and colleges need to create an environment where students, staff and teachers feel safe and secure.
Controlling access to certain areas will help achieve this, however access control should extend beyond just restricting entry on the main school door; it should encompass all the vulnerable areas inside and outside the buildings. Protection needs to be given to rooms that hold valuable property or materials that could be dangerous in the wrong hands. Offices containing personal and confidential information should not be left open and students and teachers should have somewhere safe for their belongings when they are in class.
Making the most of school budgets
Even if budgets are tight, access control should be a high priority. A cost-effective solution to controlled access would be to install push button door locks which can be installed one door at a time. Electronic door locks allow number codes to be changed easily, whether for a routine security measure or when the codes have been compromised. Push button locks also negate the need for any cards or keys. Key management can be a major concern and incur cost due to the high numbers that get lost or stolen.
Where is the protection needed?
As well as the main exit doors, there are many areas within a school or college campus that can be given access protection like science labs, sports halls, IT departments and classrooms. Push-button cabinet locks can easily be fitted on staff and pupil lockers, medical cabinets and office filing cabinets.
