Leading manufacturer of standalone entry control systems Codelocks, has supplied high quality electronic locks for the refurbishment of The Watermill Theatre in Newbury. Built as a result of the Save The Watermill Theatre campaign, the new rehearsal studio and office block accommodate the production department, stage management, administrative department and facilities for visiting artists and youth theatre groups. The renovation of the existing theatre building also included the refurbishment of the actor’s accommodation, which had deteriorated over the years through constant use. The new areas of the theatre required restricted access to members of the public whilst also providing additional security for staff areas. Codelocks supplied CL4000 medium duty electronic locks to the catering office and rehearsal rooms, as well as CL5000 heavy duty electronic locks for use in the high traffic environment of the administration offices and actors accommodation. The CL4000 is a medium duty electronic lock with full size lever handles which allow its use on doors where a knob operated lock would not be suitable. The CL4000 and CL5000 ranges allow up to 80 user codes up to six digits long and have on-door programming via master codes. Benefits of electronic access control also include one-time user codes, remote release function, automatic building alarm release and incorrect code alarms. Both locks are available with either a tubular mortice latch or a mortice lock with double cylinder and anti-panic safety function. The CL5000 range is also available with a tubular mortice latch back to back.
